Thank you everyone for the lovely comments on this series so far. Really appreciate it very much.
Ok, this is a bit of a diversion, its a model from the Japanese GT at the circuit, I shot her yesterday noon. She was standing near this blower, and i just had to ask her to bend back a bit, and look at me. And, this is the look i got. You can see me in her eyes LOL!!!! ;-)
The effects in this pic are the same as Fashion And Models 3, except here its a gentle warming filter with the added noise. I did apply a little "blur effect" to this image to soften it, as it was way too sharp. :-)

@Riya: Thanks Riya, this series is about Fashion and Models, but this shot was a bit of diversion, it was a Car Show Model rather. :) Lot more fashion shots to come.
Nice job man, I like your nite scene pics under long exp. What u think about D40? I think of to buy...
25 Jun 2007 10:28am
@Peng: Thanks Peng. Ok about D40 i would say its one hell of a camera for the entry level with all features of semi-pro SLRs. The ISO is just fantastic, if you have not noticed this shot was taken at ISO 800 and there were absolutely no grains (I introduced noise to get that effect). Its a good buy anytime if you are not planning to use the old AF or G and D lenses. The camera does not have any motor to autofocus these lenses, so you will have to live with AF-S lens series which have the built in motor and go well with this cam. But what the heck, all the new Nikkor lenses are AF-S, so no worries.
Btw, i am planning to sell mine as i am going to get a D80 or D200, my D40 is 3 months old with warranty. haha... if interested email me directly, i might have a good deal for you. ;-)
nice work done,Rahul !

Ah Rahul! No wonder you wanted to go to the GT! Haha!
25 Jun 2007 1:58pm
@Celialee: Haha... well dear, you dont see models on road in Malaysia. It has to be an event to shoot them to improve your portrait skills LOL!!!! Thanks for that cheeky comment pal. ;-) You aint jealous right, cuz a lot more pics to come where they are looking into my eyes. Haha...
As always a maestro at capturing natural expressions. I love all these "more candid" looking shots of models. Also excellent post processing work on this - makes me envious as I know nuts about PS. I should start taking lessons from you :) Can't wait for you next post in this series.
25 Jun 2007 6:12pm
@Daniel & Jessica: Thanks buddy, you have been too generous with your words here, its greatly appreciated :-). Am no master, u can say that by looking at the camera i use haha... its the most basic DSLR.
But PS is fun, a little tweaking in PS can give the picture a whole new meaning. I am just learning more of PS slowly.
Awesome shot!!!! :)
25 Jun 2007 7:46pm
@HorseRotorVator: Thanks Pal. :)
Nice shot. She looks like a natural poser. I meant that in a good way. :) can't wait to see the others.
25 Jun 2007 9:40pm
@Ling: Haha... thanks Ling, i had suggested her to do that. I guess she is just photogenic with a cute smile. If you see this shot carefully i kept the ISO 800 here though it was day time. The reason was to have fastest shutter speed possible as there is no place for a blurred shot due to shake or whatsoever, they wont give u the same pose and look again. You only shoot once. ;-)
Cant wait to see other "Posers" ?? ;-) Ok, keep tuned a lot more to come, the next pic in the series is the most natural blush from a model that i ever saw. LOL!!!
Wow!! Rahul, these are all absolutely Amazing portraits! I can't wait to see more, and neither can my husband, lol :D, he agrees with me that they are brilliant! :)
26 Jun 2007 1:06pm
@MaryB: Haha... thanks Mary, and anything for you buddy. A lot more to come in this series, and later i shall have another series of Car Models (the HOT ones tsk tsk...) I bet your hubby would sure enjoy that a lot more, and you better dont be jealous. LOL!!!! U asked for it, and your wish is my command buddy. Haha...
Nice B&W pic. Natural smile of the model captured pretty well
