KL City At 10pmPosted by Rahul (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) on 18 June 2007 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. Thanks everyone for wonderful comments and support on the Dog series. Before i start the next series which is going to be Fashion and Models, here is a shot of beautiful KL city at night 10pm. The sky was kind of dramatic and guess that inspired me to fix up my tripod and camera and shoot this.

Melina from MalaysiaMarvellous shoot and worth frame photo. Oops need to ask for your permission and your autograph as well.....Can I ? 18 Jun 2007 7:11am @Melina: Thanks Melina, always love to see your wonderful words sure encourages me to greater heights. :) And i can adjust the exposure for the towers and pass you a copy of this shot, if you intend to print it. :) You are most welcome. Manuela Photography from Hainburg, GermanyWow! The scenery is so vivid and kickin' alive! 18 Jun 2007 7:15am @Manuela Photography: Thanks Pal, a bit overexposed though as i wanted to see the clouds in this. :) Dave from United KingdomNice shot, like the light beaming up from the towers into the heavens. 18 Jun 2007 7:25am @Dave: Thanks Dave, always love to see your footprints and comments. Anne from White Rock, CanadaA very vivid scene Rahul! And mostly very striking and beautfiul. However, unlike Dave, I don't care for the "light beaming up from the towers...." It looks like a little overexposure? However, it could have been made a bit too "light and bright" in the post processing. Don't mean to burst your bubble Rahul! I think you just got a little carried away in this beautiful scene. The colors are beautiful and a very striking photo overall - just tweak it a bit and you will get perfection! ;-) 18 Jun 2007 8:21am @Anne: Thanks Anne, really appreciate your kind words and suggestions. However, the overexposure here was deliberate, as i said in my commentry that it was the clouds which got my attention and the metering was done to make sure i can see the clouds clearly. :) That sure made the twin towers look like two fluoroscent bulbs hehehe.... I could have done some magnetic lasso and have adjusted the exposure for the twins and the KL tower, but i was just a bit lazy to do that LOL!!!! Sriram from Chennai, IndiaYeah! This is fantastic work... Very impressive exposure to this! Excellent, Rahul! 18 Jun 2007 8:21am @Sriram: Thanks Sriram. @shahab: Thanks Shahab. Appreciate your visit and kind words. :) Jen from Jessup, United StatesBeautiful shot Rahul! Love the lights and sky, perfectly exposed. 18 Jun 2007 10:35am @Jen: Thanks Jen, the sky was just very dramatic and hence i overexposed it a bit to make sure i catch those colorful clouds. :) Candace from Emmaus, United StatesWOW! What a beautiful veiw...you've really got this one perfect! The lighting is dead on. 18 Jun 2007 11:58am @Candace: Thanks pal. :) The sky was really vivid and the lights made it more interesting. @craiger: Thanks Craig. :) @Anup: Thanks Anup, and you are right, it is quite overexposed. :) Kheoh Yee Wei from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysiahmm..i think this was a bit of overexposed, the lights is too bright that spoil the details, sorry, but i appreaciate your efforts put into this shot :D 18 Jun 2007 1:21pm @Kheoh Yee Wei: Thanks Bro, i know, the overexposure was deliberate and the reason was the sky which i wanted to bring out and secondly wanted to see those other bulidings which always disappear in the picture because most of the times we go all out for the twins and KL tower. ;-) Was just experimenting. A correct or slightly underexposed pic would have looked like this http://rahul.aminus3.com/image/2007-03-15.html, but here the sky and rest of the details are lost. ;-) Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesIf the shot looks like you want it to on your monitor, you might check your monitor gamma. I know I've seen images I had just right on my monitor look drastically different on a different monitor. 18 Jun 2007 4:47pm @Twelvebit: Thanks pal, I had just printed some pics yesteday and the print exactly matched the screen disaplay, so i guess thats the best test. I dont think its the gamma of the monitor, probably i need to get the gamma of my eyes corrected, they always loves to see saturated vivid colors... hehehe... LOL!!!! Laurie from Lincoln, United StatesThe long exposure is awesome! I love how it looks like that building in the background is glowing! Great job! 18 Jun 2007 5:35pm @Laurie: Thanks Laurie, for a change i decided not to consider the twin towers as the main object in this pic and bring out other buildings around and the sky which was just so lovely. amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaWow Rahul... controversy on your blog!! Love it!!! For me I like how the towers seem to be like a light beam up to the sky. The shot is really terrific!! And trust you to start a controversial commentary!! LOL ;-) 18 Jun 2007 8:56pm @amy: Thanks Amy, nah no controversy hehehe... its just us buddies passing our opinions. You know, the most wonderful thing about photography is that i might see something in a picture which you might not, and you might see something which my eyes can't trace. So, its more like what we all saw in it, a college of perspectives and i love it and appreciate all the comments. You know me well, have i ever been a centre of any controversy LOL!!!! ;-) @MaryB: Thanks Mary, and KL is indeed rocking city. :) Sarah from Gainesville, United StatesVery cool shot, Rahul. The overexposure makes for an interesting effect. Funny how some like that, and some don't! :) Anyways, wonderful, as always! 19 Jun 2007 1:42am @Sarah: Thanks Sarah, you have always been very generous. :) And i really appreciate everyones opinion. Always interesting to see what my dear freinds out there see in your picture. :) |
