Orchids Under The Sun

I like the light here, though it was a bit harsh. The lit up caused those viens to appear so clear on the surface. The hard sun also causes the background to be a bit dreamy with bubbles.... :-)

Although, i was all sweating taking this shot there, this pink fellow there seems to be having a good sun bath. ;-)

How i wish life was always so colorful like this orchid there. :)

I have been told a tip about ho to handle harsh lighting on flowers although I haven't tried it yet.
First you need a white reflector, then instead of using it to reflect light back onto the subject you use it to shield the light, just like a soft box on a modelling light. Of course this depends on you being able to hold both the camera and reflector at the same time, so camera on tripod is recommended or if you have someone along with you just get them to hold it. Is this of any use to anyone out there?

@Dave: Thanks Dave, really appreciate the tip. I did read about it somewhere, but just kinda too lazy to carry so many things to shoot. Probably thats the reason why i am not improving at a faster pace hehehe... I just try to manage everything with the camera in my bare hands. :)

Beautiful Rahul! Wonderful lighting... and as to the ISO on my shot today? Forgot to change it back down to 200... oops.. didn't even realize 'till you pointed out... ergo cute but stupid!! ;-)
