Art Monkey from Salt Spring Island, Canadawow those things are really neat - what are they and where did you find them? - nice capture 6 Apr 2007 5:06am @Art Monkey: Thanks. These are mudskippers, basically a breed of fish which can stay away from water for few hours and crawl around, but it needs to get into water for a while to sustain another few hours. These are found mainly at Mangroove areas in Malaysia. I had been to Mangroove preservation area for shooting, but to my disappointment it was low tides and water had left the shores, leaving these mudskippers crawling all over LOL... Lydia from Ottawa, CanadaI have the same comment as Art Monkey- what are those things??!! They make for a great photo though, must've been interesting to watch whatever was going on between those two... 6 Apr 2007 6:52am @Lydia: Haha... i replied to art monkey on what are those ;-) Yes this little guy was all out with open mouth heading for food, and the perspective looked like it was going to bite the tail off the fellow one ;) Anyways, i can udnerstand your curiosity, they didnt end up doing any naughty things though LOL.... They were just crawling and playing around ;-) Yvon from Meerkerk, NetherlandsIs it a fish? What are they doing in so little water? 6 Apr 2007 8:55am @Yvon: Its mudskipper, a kind of fish, which can live without water for few hours as long as it can get in water periodically. :) Kheoh Yee Wei from Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaInteresting take,Rahul ! I have the same curiosity that everybody has, what organism are they? ! 6 Apr 2007 11:17am @Kheoh Yee Wei: Haha... bro, i have answered that above in my earlier comments. Its an interesting creature. Sandra from Philippinesooh! this one is really cool. I like this... this picture is one of a kind.. are they fishes? ^__^ or semi-frog/fish ? o_O 6 Apr 2007 11:44am @Sandra: Haha... Sandy, its not a frog for sure. I have answered it above, what exactly are these creatures.... I am glad you liked the shot and the cool creatures ;-) You want me to post some of those to you ? I am sure Malaysia to Phillipines they can go by air and dont need water to survive ;-) Can just pack them in the envelop and send hahaha..... Ok ok kidding. LOL Lisha from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysiasince rahul is not aswering .. those are mudskippers actually (wiki it up), usually found at mangrove swamps - which malaysia has plenty of. they're fish .. gobies, i think. btw, nice shot rahul! 6 Apr 2007 12:07pm @Lisha: Thanks Lisha, you saved me from explanation while i was away :) I am sure u did take part in the Mangroove shooting contest ? Great shot of them Rahul 6 Apr 2007 6:54pm @Richard_Irwin: Thanks Richard, i guess it does have some sensory effect. :) Something like a wink of an eye in humans, probably ;-) @Sarah: Thanks Sarah, glad you liked it. Alicia from Singapore, Singaporethose are mudskippers, right? haha what an interesting caption. 7 Apr 2007 2:54am @Alicia: Yes Alicia, thsoe are mudskippers.
